- August 2003 - La Quasiturbine et le Président Jacques Chirac de France ? M. Chirac était en vacance à North-Hatley au Québec. - On February 18th 1999, the inventors have presented a conference at the IRH (Institut de recherche sur l'hydrogène du Québec - UQTR), entitle : "La Quasiturbine, un moteur rotatif qui surpasse les moteurs à pistons, tout en répondant aux critères de l'hydrogène".   (Avis de conférence).

- On March 1999, the Quasiturbine 3D animation has been substantially improved.

- Since September 1999, the Sorel-Tracy CEGEP department of mechanical engineering techniques contributes to the development of an intermediary scale manufacturing procedure for the Quasiturbine chainsaw engine components.

- In September 1999, the Quasiturbine has been designated "the engine of the 21 st century" by the "European Automotive Design" magazine in the September 1999 issue, also distributed at the Frankfurt Automotive show in Germany. The engineer (and technical editor) Mark Fletcher publishes in it an interesting analysis of the Quasiturbine concept. This analysis is completed in the October 1999 issue of the "Eureka Innovative Engineering" magazine.

- On September 28-30 1999, the Quasiturbine has been presented to more than 500 experts world wide at the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Small Engine Technology Conference & Exposition (SAE-SETC), Marriot Hotel, Madisson West, Wisconsin, USA  http://www.sae.org/news/setconf.htm . In three days, not a single objection !

- On September 28, the Quasiturbine chainsaw has been reported in the Quotidien du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (French).

- On November 8 1999, the Automobile analyst Jacques Duval (in collaboration with Alain Raymond) has introduced the Quasiturbine through his TV program "Auto-Guide" transmitted on Vox Channel of Cable Vidéotron (French with English captions).

- On November 29 1999, one of the inventors became a member of the Canadian Government ETF (Energy Technology Future) Virtual Conference: http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/es/etf/

- On December 13, 1999, La Presse newspaper of Montréal (as well as La Tribune de Sherbrooke and Le Nouvelliste de Trois-Rivières et la Mauricie) published an article entitle "Le moteur du 21ième siècle sera-t-il québécois ?" (In French, a special collaboration with MM. Jacques Duval et Alain Raymond).

- The December 1999 issue of the L'Écho du Transport magazine presents an article on the Quasiturbine written by Éric Descarries (in collaboration with Éric Bédard).

- On December 13, 1999, the invention of the Quasiturbine concept has been registered to the international innovation contest of Discover Magazine Awards for Technological Innovation.

1998

- In the spring 1998, a Quasiturbine promotion has been published into the guide of the World Invention Exhibit which has been held in Geneva. The author expect to introduce this chainsaw at that same World Invention Exhibit in spring 1999. This international convention has selected the Quasiturbine for its WEB site.

- In March 1998, even if the prototype was performing reasonably well in compressor mode, it appears that the concept of lateral sealing by flexion of the thin wall was suitable only to relatively low pressure, and not likely for engine mode.

- In April 1998, construction of a new rotor has been initiated, using conventional linear seal, and plane lateral thin wall. This has been assemble in June 1998, and has shown an excellent performance in compressor mode.

- Since July 1998, the Quasiturbine rotates at will in fluid energy conversion mode (Air injection thought the sparkplug hole). Efforts are since concentrated on internal friction, in order to increase the maximum rotational speed.

- In August 1998, l'École de design industriel de la Faculté d'aménagement de l'Université de Montréal has selected the <Quasiturbine Chain Saw> project, as final year student research study.

- In August 1998, a new section has been added to the internet site http://quasiturbine.promci.qc.ca which is entitled " Why is the Quasiturbine engine so exceptional ? ". A video (with sound) has also been added, showing the engine and the chain saw in operation at reduced power.

- In September 1998, the CEIM (Centre d'entreprises et d'innovation de Montréal) has accepted to incubate "Quasiturbine Chain Saw" for 1999.

- Since November 1998, "QUASITURBINE QT" and "QURBINE QT" are registered trade marks for the purpose of goods and services related to the rotary device and its applications. Here is the official logo :

- On December 17th 1998, Radio-Canada report on the Quasiturbine invention (french) (RealPlayer) at the program "Par les temps qui current" (Reporter : Mr. Julien Bilodeau).  You can listen a re-play of the program (1.5 min. - In French) on the Quasiturbine Radio page.

- For the PalmPilot amateurs, the Quasiturbine site now offers the "PalmPilot" animation.

1997

- On January 15, 1997, a Plexiglas demonstration prototype driven by pressurized air is available.

- In January 1997, the Quasiturbine has been candidate to the "Concours des Grands Prix Québécois de l'invention 1996-97" organized by MRST Ministère de la Science et de la Technologie (then MIC) et l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. Invention not selected.

- In spring 1997, a steel and brass prototype has been buitl. On April 15th 1997, the rotor and the stator of the prototype successfully totalized over 40 hours of assisted rotating test (without actual combustion).

- In April 1997, a Canadian governmental agency received an independent preliminary report study order from the CRIQ on the Quasiturbine. Ignoring the basics scientific methodology, the authors of the study (CRIQ PX-14395) did not attempt to verify their understanding of the Quasiturbine, neither to communicate with the inventors, so that many elements have not been properly understood and were incorrectly reported (...and were not later rectified). This was enough of a pretext to blowout (momentarily we hope...) the Ottawa interest and many others! Comme ce rapport qualifie la Quasiturbine de moteur à 2 temps (?), avec carter à huile (?), avec la continuité de couple du moteur à 4 pistons (?), aussi bruyant que le piston (?), carburation synchronisée (?), même difficulté d'étanchéité que le Wankel (?), complexe à fabriquer (?), et incapable de rapides accélérations (?) en raison de sa grande inertie... Pour contrer ces faussetés, les inventeurs ont demandé à contacter les auteurs du rapport afin qu'il y ait amendement, une demande qui fut refusée http://quasiturbine.promci.qc.ca/QTImages/QTCriqCnrc970315.gif (par des institutions et des soit disant experts qui se barricadent mutuellement pour ne pas répondre de leurs écrits). Ce rapport continue ainsi faire le maximum de désinformation et de nuisance.... à la satisfaction de l'establishment qui l'a commandé !

- On may 31st 1997, the prototype has reach a satisfactory compression ratio. Combustion device has been largely debugged, but priority is given to pneumatic and steam development.

- In the fall 1997, the numerical calculation of the "Saint-Hilaire" profile used by the Quasiturbine has been completed by a precision control program for optimum results.

- November 1997 - In the context of the Quasiturbine chain saw project, the CQRDA (Centre Québécois de Recherche et de Développement de l'Aluminium) as financed the casting of aluminium engine blocs produced on November 12 1997. The numerical profile was cut on December 8th 1997. Two prototypes demo chain saw (not operational) have been assembled for Christmas 1997.

- In 1997, finalization of the invention in its present form. The patent application has been filed with Canada and USA Patent office in December 1997.

- From 1990 to 1995, numerous systematic researches aimed at the challenging substitution the piston engine !
